secluded.
Belmont house is a truly stunning villa set in a residential area of Bequia
overlooking Admiralty Bay. Designed by Italian architect Mario Spinella
the house is made up of four building joined together by patios, roofs
and courtyards.
The first building houses the kitchen, dining room, laundry room and guest
bathroom. There is also a wrap-around porch with a BBQ deck looking down
on a large round fish pond out of which grows a majestic mango tree. The
fish pond is circular, four feet wide and over five feet deep. It is presently the
home of many large koi, fresh water sharks and pacos.
The second building houses the large living room, with its own porch and
outdoor dining area. This porch also overlooks the circular fish pond in the
front, plus has a view of the goldfish pond in the inner courtyard to the rear.
This porch offers incredible views of the sunset, also morning rainbows!
The third building is the master bedroom suite. It has a huge bedroom
with its own private balcony, large bathroom, office, library and dressing
room. It also looks out on the inner courtyard fishpond with its waterfall
as well as a lovely view of the harbour from the deck it opens onto.
The fourth building is what used to be called the childrens' quarters, now
called guest rooms. It is set on a higher level than the rest of the house,
separating it to ensure privacy from the other three buildings. It has its
own porch, offering perhaps the best view of all due to its elevation. There
are two large bedrooms, bathroom and dressing room, plus a large deck
running the length of the building.
